A quick round up of week one of me made May. I managed to wear me-made items on five different days, and even wore full me-made outfits on two of the days due to the warm weather. It’s been a busy week, with the Sew Scottish meet up in Edinburgh, a busy week at work and a jam packed (and sunny) bank holiday weekend. I’ve managed a bit of sewing too – it was on my list for my upcoming holiday, and all will be revealed later in the month when I get to Greece!
Reflections
I’m hoping I’ll get better at selfies (and hiding the mess in my bedroom) as the month goes on…
I have a clear gap in my wardrobe for cardigans. Me mades that could solve this include kimonos for summertime (can you tell I’m holiday obsessed?! I should also think about getting on with the Blackwood Cardigan as it is one of my 2018makenine and would really help to fill a hole in my wardrobe.
I really could do with some well-fitting me made trousers in non-polyester fabrics. I have a few pairs ready to wear that I really rely on. I’d love to figure out the fit on my Esther trouser toile, I don’t think I really suit pleated trousers as I have a full tummy, and so the pleats create weird-looking crease lines. So although I’m also thinking the Portobello trousers would be great for me, perhaps I should reach for the Sew Over It Ultimate Trousers which don’t carry any pleats.
The Megan Nielsen Flint trousers are wonderful. I’ve just re-discovered the shorts version I made for Cuba – they’ve been great in the warm weather and I’m aiming to make another pair in a longer length – watch this space! I’m also loving this Winslow Culottes wrap hack from Helen’s Closet, hoping I don’t run out of time this summer to wear them…

Lovely to see all your outfits (and so pleased to see you include the last one too – its always great to see what people feel happy wearing)
